Assassin's Creed Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that defies usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of banned ceremonies and fearsome transformations reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret group.
The mission concentrates on "strange tests and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Transformations
The trailer highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Material
Players who accomplish the adventure will receive an unique katana in addition to several objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime franchises. The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla informally contained a quest that obviously echoed the well-known series One-Punch Man.
